Hardware Engineer - Server Systems Job Description
The Datacenter Systems Group DSG within DPG is responsible for architecting developing and delivering production Datacenter Server boards systems management software and solutions These products leverage and optimize all possible Intel silicon into fully deployed systems and racks DSG is a full product business PnL shipping and supporting production systems to market DSG is currently expanding its product line and system offerings and is looking for the right key players to accelerate our market penetration and growth trajectory. The Datacenter Systems Group is seeking an experienced Hardware engineer to join our team. As the Hardware Engineer this person will be responsible for all aspects of design, verification and validation of server boards and systems. Responsibilities include understanding architecture requirements to come up with design specification, HW partitioning, schematic capture, PCB layout review against design guidelines, DFM/DFT requirements, component selection, release of Bill of Materials, support and release of relevant documents and test plans. Ensures products conform to standards and specifications. Develops plans and cost estimates and assesses projects to analyze risk. Develops procedures, analysis and design for computer components, products, and systems. Design efforts also involve working with mechanical team on defining boundary conditions for board design and working with BIOS/FW/FPGA teams for receivables. Tool knowledge required for board design - Concept HDL for schematics capture, BOM tools, Cadence Allegro for PCB layout reviews. Lab work involving power-on, functional, electrical and stress validation, along with circuit/platform debug. Tool knowledge required for board debug and validation - High speed oscilloscopes, FPGA programming and debug tools, current meters, DMM, logic analyzer, soldering station etc. Strong verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and some knowledge in Excel Macro and scripting languages such as Perl / Python is an added advantage.


Qualifications
Should possess a Bachelor of Engineering or a Master's degree of Science/Engineering in the field of Electronics and Communication. Should have 12+ years of experience in the field of Electronics circuit design or hardware system/board design.Should have the ability to lead a team of experienced and fresh engineers for CPU, FPGA based board designs. Ability to quickly identify the new technologies/interfaces and arrive at board design architecture. Thorough knowledge of CPU / FPGA architecture, PCIe, HSSI, DDR4/5, QDR, NVDIMMs, SFP/QSFP, SAS, USB, SPI etc. Experience in planning micro level activities for Engineers based on product requirements. Good presentation and communication skills so as to represent the design teams in various forums. Work with a multi-disciplinary team including Signal integrity, CAD and Mechanical engineers with fundamental knowledge on SI, PCB, CAD layout and mechanicals involved in PC board designs.
