Job Description

Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced senior engineering leader to lead the consumer engineering charter in India including LinkedIn Groups and Lite. Groups is core to our vision of a knowledge marketplace on LinkedIn, enabling members to give/get help and stay informed with members outside their immediate network. Lite is our default mobile web platform for LinkedIn.com . This role requires extensive understanding of distributed systems, building at internet scale and Consumer facing products. Our roadmap is bursting with great ideas and we are looking forward to this leader to lead this team in solving intriguing technical challenges & building products with best member experience. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing a team of Engineering Leaders and Architects working on both front-end and back-end services. This leader will own and drive the technical roadmap and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment. This role will lead teams that design, develop and manage new features and systems deployed globally. This role will lead in the overall planning, execution, and success of a complex cross-functional team, work closely with product management, actively participate in recruitment of candidates for senior technical positions and mentor technical staff.

You are seen as a thought leader in your domain and contribute immensely to short term and longterm goals/strategy. You lead teams to deliver disproportionate impact to the business through right hiring, sound decision making and dreaming big while building on an already awesome product/solution. You can take on complex problems, remove ambiguity and chart a technology direction that is aligned with the vision of the company.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Engineering Bachelor/ Masters degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
18+ years experience in planning, designing, developing and delivering software.

You have built Rockstar teams (50+ members) and organizations, and don’t shy away from rolling up your sleeves to build stuff with fellow team members.
You are obsessed with the end user experience and build things that delivers them value.
You are driven by the company’s grand vision to make a difference in society and take pride in leading such activities.
10+ years experience as a people manager in a software development organization.
Strong experience influencing and delivering results in a matrix environment
Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
