Department Description
The Investment Services and Solutions (ISS) Investment Solutions and Services offers Fidelity s investment expertise to wholesale, institutional and other professional investing clients. We provide these clients with funds in which, they and their clients can invest, or segregated mandates which are bespoke solutions. We invest our clients money in a range of asset classes inc. equities, fixed income and real estate inc. derivatives; we also offer multi-asset products which invest across these and other asset classes and in 3rd party fund products. We aspire to offer the most innovative and appropriate investment solutions to our clients, and also to support their evolving business needs by unbundling our capabilities to add our expertise to their capabilities .
ISS Operations Technology (A sub department of ISS Tech) provides systems development, business analysis, architecture & engineering, implementation and support services for Investment Services, Fund Accounting, Transactions Management, Fund Performance and Attribution, Vendor and Regulatory reporting operations and several other business groups globally. The department supports the business units catering to the entirety of FIL s Investment Process for all asset classes in all of FIL s international locations, including London, Dublin, Hong Kong, Tokyo.
Purpose of your role
This is for an opportunity in the Business Analysis team in ISS Operations Technology. ISS operations systems consist of applications like Product Hub, Global Fund Data Repository (GFDR) and Product Reporting (Fund Reporting Analytics, Regulatory and Statutory Reporting, Fund Reporting Database and Product Central). These global platforms serve as Centralized Data Services and go to source of data delivery within FIL and been acting as the key enablers for the business in achieving their goals.
Manager Business Analyst is expected to understand FIL s investment and business process with a view to identify data required to successfully execute the investment/business process. It is expected that business analyst will be able identify and suggest improvement opportunities to make the process more efficient.
Business Analyst will capture and analyse data requirements from strategic programmes and define a solution around data acquisition, management and consumption for the system team to implement. In addition, the analyst will help define the enterprise signature of each data subject area.
The BA will contribute to the creation and retention of functional knowledge in the BA team, ramp up and guidance of the new joiners in the team and overall improvement of functional knowledge in the project team. He must be a hands on analyst having expertise in analysing the investment data, systems and well versed with the techniques of business analysis processes. He/She may or may not have a team of BA s reporting in to him/her.
Key Responsibilities
Should have an ability to influence the senior business and technology leaders for preparing strategic roadmaps along with the Program Managers. Should have an appetite to deal with investment data and come up with useful insights to generate ideas for better solutions Automation mind set is a key factor and the ability to evaluate market products and gauge the suitability of them in FIL s context. Should have expert level knowledge of the Investment Management industry and associated data. Ability to understand FIL s data strategy, architecture and be proactive in raising issues and getting ownership for various functional aspects across the technology and business teams. Identifying and documenting Business Requirements

Understanding existing systems functions and liaison with Business teams
Prepare or assist in preparation of Business Requirements documents

Translating Business Requirements to System Requirements Analyse existing systems and understand the business process and data required to support the same Build solution documents to support data acquisition, management and consumption for end consumers Liaise with internal system owners and/or 3rd party data providers to develop effective strategy for acquiring data Manage & mentor team of BAs and help build Analysis capabilities across multiple projects Review test plans and participating in system testing activities as per QA processes Support business in preparation of user test procedures and user acceptance testing Work with Project Manager to establish project plans and identify Risks & Issues impacting the project , particularly the Analysis stream Provide pre-implementation and post-implementation support to the systems and business teams Serve as mentor/coach to more junior business analysts on assigned program or within the broader Solution Delivery organization Contribute to the BA organization by recruiting BAs, conducting knowledge transition sessions Ability to connect the dots and document data life cycles in an easily understood manner. Prepare UAT plans and review system testing activities. Support the System team during implementation- e.g. data loading & cutover/migration analysis Support business in preparation of user test procedures and user acceptance testing Provide pre-implementation and post-implementation support to the systems and business teams Perform current state analysis in legacy system with respect to usage of data subject areas. E.g. Reference data, Market data, Research data, Positions/Holdings data etc.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Minimum 11 to 12 years of IT experience in Investment Management/Investment Banking domain. At least 7 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst. B. Tech / B.E. or MBA (Finance) or CFA is preferred. Exposure to structured software development methodology (preferably Agile or Iterative development) A good understanding of the overall investment process and data needs of investment firms. Must have the ability to visualise data, understand data lineage and identify patterns within and across subject areas Basic knowledge of technology, third party products and their usage within investment management domain Must possess very good working knowledge of database technologies to query standard databases like Oracle Must be an expert in using MS Office products like Visio and Excel Nice to have skills include

Experience of working in applications for Trading/Regulatory Reporting/Fund Accounting / Custody & Settlement / Client Reporting area
Experience of working with 3rd party market data providers like Bloomberg, Factset, Reuters etc.
Experience of working with BI / reporting tools like OBIEE, QlikView or Tableau
Experience of working in data analytics projects.
