Job Summary
The position of Graduate Engineer Trainee will be an exciting opportunity suitable for a recent Engineering graduate in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical or a candidate with 1-2 years of basic site experience in building construction projects.
During the training period of first 8 months after joining, civil engineering trainees will go through a rigorous learning process about technical and management aspects of construction projects. Mechanical engineering trainees will be introduced to our Industrial Division, which is mainly carry out design and construction of factories, petrochemical process plants and refinery upgrades. Electrical engineering trainees will be mainly focused in commercial and Industrial Projects to design, develop and maintain electrical systems or components to required specifications focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. After the successful completion of training, candidates will start your career as Junior Engineer in our organization.
Principal Accountabilities during Training Period
Every Graduate Engineer Trainees supposed to get involved as an integral part of the daily functioning of the organization to learn all aspects of project design and execution under the guidance of Project Engineer/ Manager with following main areas of focusCompleting all tasks set by the project manager and assisting him wherever requiredObserving existing project strategies/ techniques and research for improvementsDeveloping project management skills and learning techniques used in the industryConducting research and analyzing dataTraveling to different project sites and gaining practical experience in new work zonesWorking closely with other staff members and foster professional values and build relationshipsObserving health and safety guidelines at all timesAttending meetings and workshopsPreparing and submitting evaluation formsCompiling reports and delivering presentations to staff members and other stakeholders
Responsibilities after Training Period as Junior Engineer
Once the training is over and deployed as Junior Engineer,
The Civil Engineering candidates will have responsibilities of Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geological data to plan projects. Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems and structures, following construction and government standards, using design software and drawing toolsCompute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to determine design specifications. Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standardsDirect and supervise the construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site. Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide constructionEstimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labour to determine project feasibility. Prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact statements, and property and right-of-way descriptions
The Mechanical Engineering candidates will have responsibilities of Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and throughput of the process. To perform design work for new construction, renovations and improvement projects for real property facilitiesInterprets and adapts traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards. Also responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managersDevelops cost estimates and time schedules, Reviews and analyses preliminary and final designs, plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy. Also prepares necessary correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets and status reports and prepares final construction drawings suitable for obtaining qualified bids from contractors
The Electrical Engineering candidates will have responsibilities of Perform electrical design work for new construction, renovations and improvement projects for real property facilities. Interprets and adapts traditional/modern methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standardsResponsible for selected construction inspections, quality control and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction manager. Develops cost estimates and time schedules, Reviews and analyses preliminary and final designs, plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacyPrepares necessary correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets and status reports and prepares final electrical drawings suitable for obtaining qualified bids from Contractors. Responsible for the correct and efficient execution of assigned work involving the installation, removal, inspection, maintenance and repair of all electrical systems, distribution systems and fixtures
Education and Skills Required
Graduate degree in Civil/ Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Good communication skills
Ability to maintain composure under pressure
Ability to work in a team
Good observation skills and willingness to learn
Exposure to Design/ Project Management Software’s preferred
Physical Requirements/ Working Environment
Candidates should be physically fit
Working conditions in Qatar can be very hot in summer seasons
Long hours of exposure to hard weather can be expected
Candidates should be aware of moving locations in short notice as per project requirements
Travel/ Accommodation/Leave
Company will provide travel/food facilities and bachelor accommodation. Paid leave of 25 days a year.
Remuneration
During Training Period – 20500 Monthly
As Junior Engineer after Training Period – 26000-32000 Monthly
Contract Period
Minimum contract period of 2 years after training.
