Boeing Product Systems Support Spares Technical Engineering Processing System (STEPS) team is looking for a Senior level Computing Systems Architect to help define, develop, deploy, and maintain architectural solutions. As part of this team you will have the opportunity to work with a talented project team to design a highly integrated application architecture solution using a mix of Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and internally developed systems on modern hosting platforms including cloud. This system plays a critical part to the company by enabling internal and external users ability to engineer, provision, and track interchangeability for spare parts. You will take the role of Application Architect, and work closely with the Information Technology project team and business counterparts from Boeing Global Services to partner to define and deliver technology solutions. Position Responsibilities Serve as Application Architect for STEPS, where the current legacy application suite is being modernized with an integrated, largely COTS solution. Responsible for designing technically sound capabilities and solutions, research and transformation, systems roadmaps, technology roadmaps and risk mitigation. Determine design of system interfaces by coordinating with SAP and other project teams to gather and document interface control documents. Provide technical leadership and guidance, development and architectural best practices, and hands on support to STEPS technical team. Engage and collaborate with the business to understand requirements and strategies, as well as tackle business problems, through the design and development of applications and information systems. Investigates new technologies and product opportunities that could be used to generate competitive advantage. Partner with solution architects, developers, and product specialists in both US and India based teams to define secure architectural solutions, advise on technical solution approach, and monitor technical execution. Advise on software development technical best practices within the team (e.g. DevSecOps). Provide mentorship and coaching to colleagues within and outside of team. This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) Experience as Application or System Architect, or Development Lead Experience defining system interfaces. Experience with Cloud based computing (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP, PCF, Tanzu, etc.) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) Experience with DBMS based applications Experience with integrating applications via Web Service (REST/SOAP) Experience with Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) implementations. Experience migrating a legacy application to a modern technical stack. Experience with CI/CD pipeline Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP. Experience with Oracle Forms Experience with Agile development methodologies. Experience applying DevOps and/or DevSecOps practices Experience with modern engineering and design systems Typical Education/Experience Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. PhD 4 years' related work experience, Master 7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.) Relocation Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
