Spares interchangeability engineer is responsible for the development and management of the spare part interchangeability process for semiconductor products. Spares interchangeability process needs to define how spareable parts can be linked in order to manage spares business. One level of interchangeability that needs to be defined is market share equivalent and involves relating parts that accomplish the same task on a tool. Examples are a valve and a repair kit used to refurbish and an upper assembly that is made up mostly of the same valve. If a customer uses any of the 3 parts (valve, repair kit or assy with valve as main component) then for market share analysis a Spares product line manager would assign 100% market share as long as a given customer buys one of the 3. Another example of market share equivalency is a CIP part that is not ECO connectected. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:o Define basic rules for when to associate two parts as market share equivalent (MSE). o Review SPS and SNFs to determine parts that need to be assigned as MSEo Coordinate with PLMs in all major SBUs to gather interchangeable part connections (i.e. CMP retaining rings)o Coordinate with BU engineering and PLMs to gather interchangeable part connections (i.e. CMP retaining rings)o Coordinate with AGS engineering resources to determine additional methods to discover interchangeability. o o Knowledge:o Knowledge of Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes, forms, instructions, and policieso Knowledge of ECO roles and responsibilities.o Knowledge of PDM and BOMs & item master theory.o Knowledge of supplier manufacturing processes and the ability to engage with suppliers to resolve issues.o Knowledge of manufacturing methods and materials to include basic lean philosophy and principles.o Knowledge of safety procedures and cleanroom protocol.o Knowledge of cross cultural communications.Skills and Abilities:o Demonstrated ability to write and track ECOs.o Good experience in GD&To Knowledge of design toolso Exposure in Reverse Engineeringo Good BOM Management skillso Exposed to detailing and drawingo Working Knowledge on different Engineering change management software packages like, Oracle, SAP etc., Knowledge on PLM software like, TCE (Team Center Engineering)o Demonstrated computer skills to include MS Office, Lotus Notes, Visio and/or other software / systems necessary for the performance of the jobProject management skills:o Ability to work with Cross Functional Teams.o Time management skills.o Effective negotiation skills.o Effective presentation skills.o Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.Educationo Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Automobileo 3 to 7 Years of Experience
