Job Title Manager
FunctionProgramme & Policy covers Programme Implementation (with partners or direct implementation), Thematic Expertise (technical knowledge in areas of specialization), and Policy & Programme Impact (advocacy, research, monitoring & evaluation, and quality). The function links grass-roots work with policy changes at the highest level, and manages an ecosystem of partnerships including, but not limited to, community organizations, donors, peer organizations, academic institutions, media, and the state. Each of the four hubs focus on programme interventions in two to three states, and the functional expertise necessary for adding capacity to and leveraging the work on the ground. The Programme Hub will support a cluster of states within the hubs i.e. North (Delhi, UP, J&K), East (Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam), West (Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh). Programme design (Thematic expertise) is a constituent of the Programme & Policy function that focuses on our three breakthroughs along with cross-cutting themes of Resilience, Gender equality, Child Poverty & Urban.Role purposeThe position will closely work with the National Thematic Lead, Education in designing innovative programming models aligned with the thematic strategic priorities; building technical capacities of the regional teams; generating evidences from the programmes on the ground; create and use knowledge products for policy engagement to create wider impact at scale. School Safety has been defined as creating safe environment for children, starting from their homes to their schools and back. This includes safety from any kind of abuse, violence, psycho-social issue, disaster natural and manmade, fire, transportation. It also ensures emotional safety helping children deal with emotional problems and difficulties. Safe Schools will be keg to the thematic vertical of Education and will work towards amplifying the portfolios impact on Safe Schools. Role & ResponsibilitiesSupport the National Thematic Lead Education in building the sub - thematic vertical on Safe Schools in line with overall programme strategy framework on Education.Support National Thematic Lead, Education in regular performance review of the strategic targets in relation to the sub-thematic priority on Safe Schools.Support Resource Mobilization team, National education thematic Lead and proposal writer in designing and developing innovative, evidence based proposals and programmes on safe schools.Ensure improved portfolio delivery by providing technical oversight to the project implementation teams in line with the quality frameworkSupport National Thematic Lead, Education in exploring new partnerships and stakeholder engagements to build the education portfolio around Safe Schools.Work with Programme Impact team in designing and supervising review and research studies in the area of safe schools.Provide technical support to the national and hub level team in development of knowledge products like technical briefs, insight documents, thematic research etc. for sharing with wider audiencePromote adoption and scale up of promising practices, project models and innovations on safe schoolsParticipate and engage in Capacity building programmes organised by the organisation.Support National Thematic Lead in representing the organisation externally to enhance program efficiency and delivery.Collaborate with cross sectoral and cross functional teams at the National Support Office (Cross themes, Policy and Programme Impact, RM, Campaigns and Communications, Programme Implementation, Human Resource) for necessary synergies and alignment.
